The Hokkaido Rail Pass allows travelers from abroad to enjoy unlimited rides on all JR Hokkaido lines. This pass is available to passengers with a foreign passport that bears a "temporary visitor" stamp from Japanese immigration in accordance with the temporary visitor (15- or 90-day) status of Japanese Immigration Law. This pass can only be used by persons who have signed their names on it.

Prices are based on a fixed yen price and fluctuate according to the current exchange rate. The following are those fixed yen prices. Prices are subject to change. Additional mailing fees may apply.

2. Validity
 The Hokkaido Rail Pass is valid for all the train lines of Hokkaido Railway Co. and the bus lines of JR Hokkaido Bus (excluding Sapporo - Asahikawa / Sapporo - Mombetsu / Sapporo - Obihiro / Sapporo - Kiroro / Sapporo – Erimo & Hiroo lines and irregular lines).
Ordinary Car: Ordinary Car reserved seats on Express and Limited Express trains can be used. * Surcharges are required to ride First-class Cars (Green Cars) or Sleeping Cars (Limited Express charge, berth charge, etc.). First-class Car (Green Car): These cars of Limited Express trains can be used. Surcharges are required to ride Sleeping Cars (Limited Express charge and berth charge).
 
3. Period of Validity
 You must exchange your Exchange Order for a Hokkaido Rail Pass within 3 months from the date of issue. At that time, you must specify the date that you want to start using the pass. It can be any date within one month from the date the pass is received. Once the pass has a starting date written on it, the date cannot be changed. (If the passenger is traveling between stations (e.g., on a night train) when the pass expires, the pass is valid for the day following the expiration date.)
